The mission of
the Norwood Public Schools Health Services is to provide a program
that
enables each student to reach his/her full educational and physical
potential. The program
is dedicated to the promotion and maintenance of the health and
wellness of the school community. In order to achieve this mission
the program strives to:
- Improve
access to health care service for all students
- Address both
the mental and physical needs of students and faculty
- Advocate for
students and families
- Collaborate
with Health Care Providers and families in the community
- Assess health
care needs and implement appropriate interventions
- Build student
and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self advocacy
and lifelong learning
- Continue the
professional growth of nurses through continuing education
- Use computer
technology to optimize efficiency of the health program
Immunizations:
Massachusetts General Laws chapter 76,
Section 12, specifically prohibits admitting a student without a
Physician's Certificate that the child has been successfully
immunized against Measles/Mumps and Rubella; Diphtheria, Pertussis
and Tetanus; Polio, Hepatitis B, HIB and Varicella; unless religious
or medical exemptions apply. check

Massachusetts now offers free or low cost health insurance to children
and students ages 19 and under. For applications, see your school nurse. |
